YSL Mascara Volume Faux Cils | Influenster Vox Box

Hey Guys, I am reviewing the new YSL Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils False Lash Effect Mascara*, provided by my Influenster YSL VoxBox. If you are interested in knowing more, please keep on reading.

This mascara is a reformulation of their original Volume Effect Faux Cils Mascara. This new remastered formula claims to not dry out. Additionally, as a volume mascara, it has a fiber brush, but it is not like the fibers that fall on your face, or in your eyes, or that you have to apply separately. The new formula has B5, which is meant to strengthen lashes. It is also more intensely pigmented than the original formula. These are the claims the mascara makes, and here is my opinion!

I 100% agree with the claims about volume and intense color. When I wear this mascara, it feels like my lashes triple in volume. I also have noticed absolutely no clumping, which allows me to add multiple layers for really black and voluminous lashes. Additionally, it is so black that I don't even need to wear eye liner to have a defined upper lash line. In the photo below, I am wearing one coat of the mascara with no eyeliner at all, and my upper lash line looks incredibly defined.  I am wearing a light layer of waterproof mascara under neath, but that is just to hold my curl. This mascara does apply beautifully as a second coat mascara and as a lower lash line mascara.

The formula is wet, but not overly wet, and the brush, which is natural bristles, applies a light to medium coating, which I really like. The wand is also not covered in product like some mascaras (like the Miss Manga from L'Oreal). This mascara comes in 6 shades, however, there is not waterproof version yet. I have not noticed any running though. 

Now the only issue is the cost. This mascara retails for $32 at Sephora, which is a little pricey. However, if you are in need of a high end mascara, I would 100% recommend this -- especially if the formula does not dry out. In the past, my biggest problem with YSL mascaras is that they dry out too quickly (ahem - the babydoll - ahem). This is my favorite YSL mascara that I have tried and one of my favorite mascaras in general.
